PRESENTING WATER WORKS

WATERSHED+ and the The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers are excited to present Water Works. This two-day screening series will showcase critically acclaimed documentary, short and experimental films about water at two outdoor locations along the Bow river pathway in downtown Calgary. The event aims to encourage Calgarians to interact with their water sources, and to engage with independent film in unconventional ways.

Saturday September 28th River Walk (East of the Simmons Building- 618 Confluence Way SE)

An interview with Rachel Duckhouse

Rachel discusses the flow patterns and interconnections of water systems in Calgary that inspired her exhibition ONLY FLOW.

Informed by conversations and site visits with specialists in engineering, fluid mechanics and ecology she constructs her own flow visualizations and reveals a hidden world of imagined pattern and rhythm.

We are thrilled to share that our first Watershed+ artist in residence Rachel Duckhouse, has a solo exhibition in Calgary!

Rachel’s exhibition ONLY FLOW is presented at TRUCK Gallery.
Date: Friday, June 7th.
Time: 8pm – 11pm.
Location: TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary – The Grain Exchange (Lower Level), 815 1 St SW.
The exhibition runs from June 7 – July 13, 2013.
The reception and exhibition are open to the public and admission is free!

Bowmont Park Public Open House

May 21st, 2013

On Wednesday, May 22, 2013, the City of Calgary Parks will host an open house to present and discuss the conceptual design of exciting changes for Bowmont East to the public. Watershed+, along with landscape architects and water engineers, was part of the design team.
