Please join us on Thursday, June 19 as the Bee Kingdom artists share their experience of working on the project and unveil their new body of work, THROUGH THE BEE’S LENSE: Water Microbes in Glass.

A number of City staff graciously agreed to sit down and share their experience with Calgary’s Utilities & Environment Protection (UEP) Public Art Plan.
Here’s what they had to say…

The weather must be getting warmer because the testing of the Hydrant fountains has started! We will be launching the first of the season at the Calgary International Children’s Festival happening from the 21st to 24th of May. Watch for the fountains throughout the summer as they will be installed to provide drinkable water at festivals and special events.
Bee Kingdom will be spending the upcoming months visiting Calgary’s water treatment centres, meeting lab staff and learning the complex process of water treatment. Here is a chance to see their studio, experience live glassblowing demos, and check out their glass sale. Admission is free and open to the public.
Work from the project between WATERSHED+ and Bee Kingdom will be shown at several City facilities and in public exhibitions later this year.
Coming soon – Bee Kingdom open house in May.
